The Family Behind You, Me and the Boys Farmstead
Welcome! We’re so glad you’re here. My name is Kimberly and I’m the voice of this page, but I’ve got an incredible family, without whom none of this would be possible. Together with our 3 boys, my husband, Alex, and I run a micro farm; we do everything that we do on under 1.5 acres. We are first-generation farmers, meaning we weren’t taught how to do this, and are learning as we go.
Farmsteading, to me, is more than just a lifestyle; it’s about reconnecting with nature, becoming more self-reliant, and rediscovering the traditional skills that our fast-paced world often overlooks. We have a long way to go, but we strive to be as farm-to-table as possible. This blog is a window into my world – a place where I share my experiences, triumphs, and challenges as I navigate the rewarding path of farmsteading.
Come along with me as we learn about animal husbandry, beekeeping, composting, canning, making our own healthier cleaners, and cooking delicious, beautiful recipes with healthy ingredients that you can take pride in.
Start Homesteading
From starting a garden and raising livestock to preserving food and crafting homemade goods, each post is a chapter of my ongoing adventure. But this blog isn’t just about what I do; it’s about what we can learn together. It’s a space for sharing knowledge, inspiring each other, and building a community of like-minded individuals who share a passion for a simpler, more sustainable way of life.
So, whether you’re an experienced homesteader, an aspiring green thumb, or simply curious about this way of life, I invite you to join me on this journey. Let’s learn, grow, and thrive together in our pursuit of a more grounded and gratifying existence.
Welcome to my homesteading journey – where every day is an opportunity to cultivate happiness from the ground up.

Introducing my new Book…kind of!
A Dream In My Heart
and why I’m sharing it with you.
Come along and dream your wildest dreams with me.
I started writing a book before I even started farmsteading. I’ve always been much better with written words than the words that come out of my mouth. I’ve shelved the book for a couple years now, because life got in the way. If I can be perfectly real with you, it’s also because somewhere along the way, I stopped believing in myself. But, your girl is back. If I’m going to encourage you to follow your dreams, I need to walk the walk. This is my public commitment to continue to focus on my book, in hopes that one day I can share it with all of you!
